Roland T Woodward
Roland Woodward is a retired chartered forensic psychologist living in the United Kingdom. Although dyslexic, he has written poetry all his life. He has now found time to join other poets in his local area and to pursue publishing his poetry. Roland has previously published ‘The Cancer Years: So Far,’ ‘The Cancer Years: Some Rough Stuff’ and ‘The Cancer Years: Breathless,’ collections of poems which were written during his ongoing battle with prostate cancer, diagnosed in 2019. In addition, he has published ‘The Travelling Years,’ a collection of poems written in English hotels and restaurants whilst traveling as a clinician and a third short collection, ‘Herod’s Children Crumulent Collection,’ a selection celebrating failure.

Roland has published a blog for family and friends since his first chemotherapy and occasionally posts the reading of a new poem on his YouTube channel PROST8KANCERMAN.
This collection, ‘The Cancer Years: Ordinary Brave,’ is the fourth in the Cancer Years series that charts Roland’s prostate cancer journey. It’s a tricky path to chart as being in stage four with no cure available, it is not possible to judge accurately what will be the last in the Cancer Years series. All that can be hoped for is a long series and the inspiration and energy to fill it to the end.
